American Head Unit
I've just recieved my Alpine iDA-X001 stereo and it is fooking awesome! The iPod control is so much better than anything I've ever tried before.
I have a slight problem though and that is as it's an American unit the radio only tunes into frequencies that end with an odd number (104.9, 98.5). This means I'm missing out on a lot of stations.
Doea anyone know if it is possible to do anything to the unit so it can tune into all the possible frequencies?
Cheers
Paul

Some head units can be altered in the menu.
Others carn't and you will have to get a frequency adjuster (forgot the proper name). But this basically goes in your ariel wire and moves every frequency by X amount so 98.9FM will actually be 98.8 FM etc.
Do a google for it. Maybe on ebay too.
IIRC they were almost £40. That's what put me off a US unit as they look cheap to purchase but by the time you've paid import duty and got the frequency thing then there's naff all between costs of here and there.

my dad bought a few imported jap cars and had to buy something called a band exspander as the radio would not tune into any stations, sounds pretty similar to your problem when i speak to him next i will ask him full crack on it or you could do a search on google for a band exspander .
Think he paid £15 posted from ebay.
