Anyone work at Halfords

I have been trying to buy a stereo from Halfords. They are exclusive stockists. Otherwise I'd try elsewhere. It's the LG 9600R Sat nav, dvd unit.

All stores local to me don't stock it.

I could do with having it this week. Have tried the online ordering, and was told by my local store that this would give me a stock checker, but it didn't.

Does anyone have any tips on where to buy this unit that actually would be able to supply it to me?

halford at hermiston gait in edinburgh had it in stock yesterday as i was looking at buying one,maybe they can send it to another store?

Order it online, and don't they give you options for next day delivery, or within 2/3 days?

Blimmey, sounds a bit ridiculous..
The store i work at is nowhere near you chap, so cant be of much help.. however.
Either go back into your local store, or just phone them and ask them to use the 'BW' feature of the intranet to search stock in all stores in theyre area by typing the item code 802546 and the area number (the staff should know where it is on the intranet, the passwords, and how to search for stock lol)
Then staff can get a reasonably recent result of which stores have stock, going on the item code. Hope it helps.

Do you reckon I could get a reversing camera thrown in, since I won't be getting them to fit it, and the inability to tell me if anyone had any, and the display one didn't work so I am buying a little blind.

when your standing at a checkout like a total wally waiting to pay, it suddenly dawns on you that all the items placed on the checkout aren't on display, they are what previous customers have left because they couldn't pay for them!!!

in the other local Halfords the sales staff seem to have an average age of about 14, they do hassle you as soon as you walk in, but unfortunately none seem to know anything about the items they are trying to sell.

i only ever go to halfords if i really need sumit no where else has, i once bought some redex injector cleaner, i was waiting at the check out for about 10 mins, i walked round the shop to find someone, and there were 2 staff chatting at the back of the shop

i work in halfords wakefield and we dont have that head unit either - although it doesnt matter now you have it lol

how is it? would be nice ot have some opinions to tell customers about it when we get them in ?

/\ tazzy problem is only certain peoplpe can use the tills - you need to swipe a card through it to use it and only the till girls have them - or the manager. And the till girls usually spend time flirting with the male workers !

Looks good, and not much extra. Doesn't have USB, but does have ipod possibility, and steering wheel possibility.

Any experiences of either. I'm not sure whether to change or not.

olix99 - I'll put some feedback up if I do install it. Having looked through the box etc, it does look very good. But then it should for that price.
