anyone had this done and know how much it would cost to get it removed from my mk3 astra? half the dash is apart so can see the brain etc etc. its just all the wires, immob and keypad thing that need removing
Mentioning a keypad makes it sound like a Sigma alarm
Whatever the alarm it's just a case of tracing all the wires back to the source and disconnecting making sure that if it's a immobilisation wire you join it back up again
your better off getting a new one installed,
when the installers put the new one in, they will trace the main cables and either remove or cut the wireing , overriding the existing one.
they did this on my Porsche.
of course you could try and remove old alarm, but any decent alarm will have some fake wiring to put would be car thefs off the scent
got a family friend coming on saturday (alarm fitter) to have a look and see what maybe wrong. if its just a case of re-coding the fobs etc etc as its been disconnected from battery for some time (months rather than weeks/days)
will see what he says and if need be get him to fit a new one and remove this one. thanks!
aye. even prof fitters are bidge artists. just because you get a certificate for it dont mean its fitted. end of the day they are earning a living and wanna do as many jobs as possible
a few i have seen clearly have no clue on what to do
Obviously there are probably some who are decent enough still but the majority of installs i have personally seen have been disgusting. wires everywhere/not taped up the list goes on so don't be offended as am sure your work will be of a respectable standard
I am not sure how to re-program the remotes to be honest?
Thanks mate but afraid i cant at the momneht. am prolly gonna just have it removed to be honest. will drop you a PM if needed though mate thanks
