1, will these speakers be driven direct from the headunit, or by a seperate amp?
2, will there be a sub installed now, or in the future?
3, will these rear speakers be there to provide rearfill, or are you after a club sound?
4, what speakers are fitted up front,(coaxials or components), stock items or aftermarket high powered units?
if it sounds right to you, then its right.
they wil be direct from head unit 4x45watt
nah there is no bass or going to be but was thinking about upgrading the front as well
the power figures you quoted,(4x45watts), is actually manufacturers bull s--t designed to make the headunit more appealing. your actual output will be somewhere around 18watts rms at 0dB,(and it's not possible to record music at 0dB, so i would expect somewhere between 13watts rms and 15watts rms on a good day).
with regard fitting 6x9's, they will reproduce more noise than stock speakers,(due to larger cone area), but with less clarity,(i'm talking about the lower freq's now).
would suggest you select a decent set that have a high sensitivity coupled with a low rms rating,(this would indicate a lighter cone suspension which will improve response when being driven by a weak headunit amp).
if you do decide to fit 6x9's there are a few modifications you can make to improve the headunits efficiency, these are;
1, fit a direct permanent fused feed from the battery to the headunit, use 25amp cable fused at 15amps within 6" of the battery,(this will cut down on voltage drop experienced by the headunit).
2, coupled with the above you should avoid using the stock earth, instead run the headunits earth direct to a chassis earth,(clean the area back to bare metal), again you should do this using 25amp cable.
3, you can fit a stiffening cap,(powercap), on the headunits new permanent live if you wish, because you have no amps you could get away without using a one-way diode between the batt and cap,(think i would go with a 1 farad cap).
starting to get a little too involved now i thinklmao

if still confused then ask again including make and model of speakers you wish to amp, and the available budget.
if it sounds right to you, then its right.
