    corsa c radio code

this corsa c is starting to take the pi££ now.

first of all, the battery is located in such a place that its a b!tch to take out. i felt like scrapping the damn car.

now, the radio is playing up. it displays 7 safe. it doesn't change its state and i can't enter the code. this radio is not worth 5p and it has more security features than fort knox.

does 7 safe mean its been locked out, i read the manual and it doesnt say anything about 7 safe.

is there any way round this or am i going to have rip this cheap, usless radio out and smash it up with a big mallet and post it through the lletter box of the local vauxhall dealer.

7 SAFE means you have 7 more chances of getting the code entered correctly.

in order to enter the code you need to do this

turn ignition on all the way till lights on dash come on
    turn radio off
press and hold AS button and turn radio on with AS button still pressed
After a few seconds the radio will beep and it will display 7 ----
now use buttons 1 - 4 to enter the code, pressing each button enough times for the number you need to be displayed , so 1234 - button one twice (0 1), button 2 3 times (0 1 2) and so on
Then with the code entered and on the display, press and hold the AS button and it should unlock.

If you do not have the correct code i would not bother entering it till you have got the correct code.

Safe 7 probably means there are 7 attempts left to enter the correct code

Assuming you have the right code start the engine up with the stereo off, press and hold the AS button and switch the stereo on, it shoud then beep and allow you to entre the code using 1 for the first number 2 for the second and so on. Once the corrent numbers displayed press and hold the AS button again it it should work again

you need the ignition on, if the radio comes on turn off so the date is displayed

then press AS button and then press press the on button, the AS button has to be pressed before the on button and held pressed until the unit beeps

Your looking at having to leave the ignition and radio on for up to a hour for 7+

ture and the more times an incorrect code is entered, the long it takes as the time increases between each wrong attempt. it does say about how long it must be left on in the hand book.
