Hi,

with reagrds the wiring listed above, is the speed sensor input "Speed of Car MPH(For speed sensitive volume on vauxhall SC804 radio) Blue/Red 5" present on a year 2000 tigra? I have bought a navigation system which requires a speed sensor input if present would connecting this wire to the correct point on the iso connector make my nav system work? I believe it should because i think the cdr 500 cd player i have already has speed sensitive volume but I want to be sure the cable is going to be there before ripping out the old stereo.

Thanks

Hey, I just stumbled across this thread on google while trying to find help that the douchers at Vauxhall just don't want to give me.

I've just fit a JVC stereo in a 2003 MK4 Astra SRI and have encountered a problem. The wire box fits into the back of the JVC one fine, and the stereo turns on, and it comes through the speakers fine, and it all works hunky dory, except the ignition has to be on for it to power up. The JVC stereo came with a wire box and all the wires trailing out the back for you to be able to cut and shut the wires of your car and do it that way, but seeing as it's just one wire, I'd rather not. On said box, I can see that the yellow wire in the A4 pin place is the one I need to be replaced, if that makes sense? It's the MEMORY & IGNITION BYPASS wire.

I know there is one somewhere in the bundle of Vauxhall wires, as the Vauxhall stereo could be powered up without the ignition on. So basically, I need to know which wire on a 2003 Astra would be the Ignition bypass so I can cut and shut it into the right pin.

It pisses me off that I even have to ask this. It SHOULD be included in the Vauxhall manual, but like every car maker, they are clowns when it comes to being helpful.

Cheers for reading.

Ah, this all gets a bit clearer once you hit the quote button, it supplies the original spacing (was quoting it because I wanted to ask for clarification on some points)
(actually it looks like this was originally written in notepad and cut'n'pasted here, as it's got tabs, which yer typical internet input box doesn't allow to be typed, only pasted)

Re-working this in order of the pins:

Function ............................................................. Wire Colour ..... Vauxhall Pin no.

Alarm Trigger (vauxhall only) ................................... Brown/Violet .... 1
Ignition Supply ...................................................... Black ............. 2
Display Illumination(vaux only) ................................. Grey/Green ..... 3
Earth .................................................................. Brown ............ 4
Car Speed (for speed sensitive volume on SC804) ........ Blue/Red ........ 5
Phone Mute (late calibra models with vaux phone kit) ... Black/Yellow ... 6
Electric Aerial (Cavalier) / Aerial Amplifier (Calibra) ....... Red/White ...... 7
+12V Battery Supply .............................................. Red ............... 8

Left Front Speaker +- ............................................ BlueBrown/Blue ........ 21
Right Front Speaker +- .......................................... YellowBrown/Yellow ... 43
Right Rear Speaker +- ............................................ WhiteBrown/White ... 139
Left Rear Speaker +- ............................................. GreenBrown/Green .... 1612

Now, what I wanted to check was two-fold, all regarding those last four.
a/ Was it supposed to be written thus? (not in numerical order this time):
Left Front Speaker +, - ........................................... Blue, Brown/Blue ......... 2, 1
Right Front Speaker +, - .......................................... Yellow, Brown/Yellow ... 4, 3
Left Rear Speaker +, - ............................................ Green, Brown/Green ..... 16, 12
Right Rear Speaker +, - .......................................... White, Brown/White ..... 13, 9

b/ if so, just what's going on with pins 1-4? As they seem to be carrying speaker outputs as well as general earth, alarm trigger, and power inputs for general use and display illumination...
or b/ if not, which pins are no.s 21, 43, 1612 and 139?

Cheers

Unhappy Hmmmmm my wiring is different

Hey, my wiring is different to this, my sisters idiot partner cut the ISO blocks off and I havea bunch of wires, some similiar to the ones said and others not.

Car is an R-Reg Corsa 1.4

I've managed to seperate the wires into 2 sections, from the main bunch of wires at the back theres a group of wires that seem to emerge from the left hand side and a smaller group that emerge from the right hand side.

They are as follows:

Right Side:

2 x Brown wires with White Stripes
Blue/Red
Red (Ran at 12v when tested with a multimeter and car engine on)
Brown (Thicker Cable Than Usual) Tested with multimeter, Always 0 so Ground?
Green/Grey

Left Side:
Blue
Brown/Blue
Yellow
Brown/Yellow
Green
Brown/Green
White
Brown/White

Brown (when engine is on gives off 12/13v)
Brown/Black
Brown/Red
Brown/Grey
Green/Grey
Red/Grey
Red (Thicker Than Usual) (gives around 12v with engine off, battery constant supply mayby?)
Red (Thinner and gives 12v with engine on)
White/Black

Now with mine the thick right brown does seem to be the earth as it is at 0v all the time, the other brown gives out 12v with the engine on as does the right hand red and the thinner red wire on the left. The thicker red is 12v all the time so I think that's my 12v constant battery. What is worrying is that they all dance from 12v to around 13v, is that meant to be like that or is that the multimeter being dodge?

I'm wondering now if the thinner brown should be ignition or if it's one of the thinner reds?

If anyone can help it would be great! I'm looking out for a Haynes manual on ebay incase that might shed some light.

Oh and big thing to note aswell, I have NO cigarette lighter so some of the cables might be related to that.

Hope someone can help, cheers in advance!

Swap the red and yellow wires over.
