    central locking to remote locking?

I've got a fully working central locking (eg, locking/closing from driver's door, passenger's door and boot does work)
    deadlocking works as well...

If I understand correctly, upgrading this to remote locking isn't that much work - just hooking up a remote receiver onto the existing wires, ...

Has anyone done this before, or knows what's involved / what parts are needed?
Was adviced against using vauxhall gear, as they have dodgy electronics...
I've seen links to Maplin's, but can't find that thread again...

    All opinions are welcome...
    Thx in advance...
Note: the above may or may not be entirely correct.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, and then it struck me.

Microscan do two kits you could try. If you've got an alarm you can buy an interface to link your locks to the alarm fob. If not, they do the SCL3000 central locking controller - with its own fobs - which seems pretty good. A mate's got one on his Manta...

    Thx!

anyone knows or has got a manual for this one, as there isn't exactly much info on that website...
(I'm asking this for the pulse duration, as that's normally the most important compatibility thingie ...)

And do you have to connect the indicators (flashing) or sound signal (beep beep) as I'd prefer to do without either of 'em...

Pulse duration on Microscan stuff is about a second, although most units have a green wire which, if cut, will give you a 3 second pulse...

    Ok,

Have a look here, it's a long read, but should explain how it needs to be connected to the existing central locking. (Complete with MSPaint diagrams drawn by me lmao).

I'm using this, along with their central locking interface (which it looks like they've discontinued . That said, the principals for wiring should be the same for most interfaces. Take a look at the diagrams on that thread and it should become clear.
