    idea of puting a freeview box im my car

    ok iv got a pioneer p6500dvd player in my car its got the option on having a tv turner in it but if i get the proper one for the head unit it will cost £500 but i what to know it i can put a freeveiw box in instead what im thinking about doing is this

    iv got a spare freeview box kicking about at home go down maplins buy a 12v-240 converter and long scrart caple and a converter to turn the scrat to rca the only thing im stuck on it the areial any ideas!!

    does any one know if this will work or am i missing sumthing!!

    Mobile freeview boxes in my experiance are cack.
    Freeview requires good reception from an appropriate transmitter giving a good signal. This is very hard to acheive in a car.

    Try it and see though and let us know how you get on.

    Its hard enough to get it in your house round here lmao

    When I was having a play with a freeview box I had to get within about 5 degrees of the correct alignment or I couldnt get a signal at all.

    may give up on the idea if it will be that hard to keep or even get the signal
    its all good

    Couple of mates have the freeview box in there cars,and works well.
    they use a small mag mount aerial to get better reception.

    Yep, omni-directional high gain mag mount is the way to go.
