If you’re going to try that make sure you have an inline fuse.

Cant you just try it in one of your mates cars?

As said use inline fuse then just tack the power and ground wires onto the battery. Make sure no other wires touch out of the dangly mess!

And did you know you could fix your loom easy enough by chopping what's missing off a scrap yard car? Would be a good idea to save you wrecking head unit looms in the future

dont go holding wires on the the pins on the back of the headunit, if you slip and accidenatly go to the wrong one, it will be dead in a puff of smoke... best bet is to go to a scrappy and cut one out.

You wont need to solder anything if you get a block from the same model as yours. Just match the wires up on the block to the ones coming from your car and then plug and play.

    Don't use a car battery.
Get a 1amp 12v power supply and use that.
Even if you get it wrong using this, it won't kill the headunit, unlike the car battery.

Yes solder it on is the best way, or if access limited (probably will be) then just use bullets.

you need to put yellow and red to + and black to - (thats assuming its aftermarket)

if its standard vaux wiring, you need to put red and black to + and brown to -

As said before just pop down to halfords and ask them to test ur radio on there board as if it dont work say u may want to buy a new one.

No need to fart around with making up cables and going to scrappys just to test a radio.
