    05 55 Corsa C Stero

    Alright,

Just got my new Corsa (55 Plate) and taken the stero to find something I wasnt expecting. Instead of the usual ISO connectors that will link straight up to the cable for new stero, there was an unusual connector plugged into standard stero.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this ?
I do have an autoleads adapter on order that I have been told should convert this vauxhall cable into ISO leads so I can just plug in my new stero but will have to wait and see.

Any comments/advice would be much appreciated, as from the people I have spoken to I have heard many different things, although none of these people had actually changed one before.

    Cheers

    Chris

What stereo was in there as standard? Did it have steering wheel controls or any traffic master type thing?

It was the CD 30 in, yes it has steering wheel controls and it also has a little display on the dash rather than on the actual CD player.

Have you tried unplugging this extra bit of loom - on some cars there is an ISO plug further down the line.

It didnt look like it, as far as i could see, the wires were all wrapped in a mesh material. I will double check though, but like i say, it didnt look as if there could be. Cheers

The lead you need to install an ISO connector for a new Corsa, and probably any other new vauxhall is by Autoleads - Part Number PC2-85-4. Although its not as stright forward as plugging and playing - theres some dicking around with the warning light switch as well.

All in all its a real ball ache from what it was!!

Hope this helps someone in future.

Agreed with the comment above, the ISO loom you need is also for the BMW and VW ( a new standard connector by the looks of it)

Also I believe there is now no accessory wire on the headunit so a ignition feed will also need to be found plus the aerial connector is different

Yes, the autoleads part comes with a link for the aerial, which i was pleased with. The ignition feed is linked in with pin 12 and pin 18 of the hazard warning light block connector.

Pioneer do a lead that fits the CD 30 loom and keeps the steering wheel controls, too.

    Details here.

I would say what your seeing is the canbus interface.

    good luck with that.

Vauxhall sell the adaptors for round about £30

Let me know the colour and I can get you a part number.....

    Colour of which bit?
When you say vauxhall sell the adapters - adapters to adapt what to what - might sound a but silly but didnt follow your reply?

    Cheers

This is very similar to the lead I have bought from Autoleads for £20, it just suggests alternate places to gain an Ignition Live.

Should have fun trying to put it in this weekend anyway!!

    Talking

sorry, should have explained myself a bit more!

The adaptors convert the wiring to standard iso plugs.

I mean the adaptors that vauxhall sell also include the fascia adaptor as well, and of course, this depends on the colour of the dash.

A lad at our work has got a 55 plate corsa and he needed this kit to wire up his pioneer stereo, but now works like a treat.

Tried to fit my headunit this weekend - only to find that pin 12 & 18 (which the autoleads instuctions advises you use) do not exist on the hazard warning light block connector??
Would it be silly to presume the block connector may start on pin 12 and finish on pin 18 as there is only 6 pins on it??
    Anyone any ideas? Cheers

Hi Chris, I think the adaptor just did the whole lot. Without having to connect pins or wires anywhere else, I will clarify tomorrow, and see if theres anything about it on tis 2000.

    SORTED!!

Finally got this sorted so posting the solution for the next person who trys to install a stero in a new Corsa.

You need to buy autoleads part: PC2-85-4
This looks pretty standard and converts the vauxhall block connector into standard ISO plugs which will link right up to your stero's wiring harness.
It does come with 2 extra wires to wire in though, an orange and a yellow.

For some reason, vauxhall have made their steros run of 6v instead of 12v which is why this needs to be done:

The yellow wire needs to be wired into a 12v power source, such as cig lighter or warning lights block connector. The orange wire is just for illumination so unless your putting in a stero worse the manufacuters then just forget orange!! Once the yellow is wired into a 12v source your headunit will be up and running sound !!

Hope this helps peeps in the future!!
