What's the largest speakers you can fit into MK2 Astra dash?

I've been told that 4" speakers will fit in easily enough.
I'm going to take a look some time soon. Will, say, 5" speakers fit in with a bit of modification?

I replaced the dash speakers on my old astra. I used 4" Sony jobs and it was a squeeze to get them in. I had to cut off the 2 mountings points and twist and fiddle a bit.

Prob is with these dash mounted ones is what they're mounted to is VERY flimsey, almost like cardboard. I'd personally replace em with 4" or possibly tweets. Anything bigger is a waste of time and probly won't fit anyway!

Ok 4" it is.

I know how flimsey the cardboard stuff is! When I had a problem with the manual choke on my 1.3 I pushed the knob so hard that it pushed through the cardboard stuff!
