Astra MKIII Door speakers
Help!!
Neither tweeter nor woofer in my drivers door are working.
According to my trusty "Haynes" manual - I should be able to remove the woofer by simply removing the covering panel and the three retaining screws and out it will pop so I can check the wiring.
Is there a knack to this operation? Or am I going to have to take the whole door panel off? Cos' the panel comes off and the screws do too, but i cant get the bloody speaker out - and am frightened of damaging it.
Is lose wiring the most likely cause? or should I be looking elsewhere?
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

I agree, dodgy wiring seems most likely.

According to the haynes manual you can remove the woofer just by taking the grille off, but I took the whole door card off as I was doing a lot of work anyway. From what I remember there wasn't much slack in the wiring so doing it through the grille could be tricky.
The woofer is attached with an adhesive 'gasket' though so once you've removed the screws it still requires a bit of a pull to remove it.
I felt it was a bit dodgy though being able to remove the woofer just by taking the grille cover off so I mounted my new woofers so they can't be removed through the grille.

Cheers Paul,
I had another attempt this evening, and you are right, there is not much slack - looks like the whole door panels coming off so I can investigate further.
Thanks
Lewis
