Where u have the timing belt cover.he reckons the oil is leaking from there but i much to differ since when is there oil floating within the bloody timing belt......
so anyone got any answers to what the hell hes oning about?????
The seals around the cams on my Nissan are one round seal for each cam. You wanna get them changed cos you dont want oil covering the cam belt. If you take the cam cover off you should see oil running down from the cam pullys.
I duno how much it'll cost. Do you have a mechanic m8. If not try Autotorque (i think thats wat they're called) they are in morriston. they are just off teh motorway (cant remember junction but its the one after llamsamlet) Look in the phone book for the address.
To be honest i dont know how hard it is cos i ve taken my whole head apart and havent put it back together yet. BUT i dont think its that hard. The pulleys will have to come off but i dont know if the cams will have to come out.
There are two Adam, one on each pully end. Fixing is a matter of lining up the timing marks and removing the belt, then the pullies. The old seal can usualy be hooked out with a stiff bit of wire. Remove the woodruff key and the new one, oiled lightly, can then be pressed home using a deep socket.
Change the belt too though if it has been soaked in oil.
