Just been looking in the trusty Haynes manuals and wondered why seemingly indentical engines have different power.
A 1.3S from Mk1 or 2 Astra has 75bhp, but a 1.3 from a Nova only has 70bhp, apparently with the same bore, strokes, compression ratio, and timing, any ideas? (cams?)
So a 1.4NV Nova engine also has 75bhp, which is better 1.3S or 1.4NV?
Does a Nova 1.4SR make it`s speed gains through it`s gearbox? as this seems to be the only difference between an 1.4SR and an 1.4L/Merit etc.
