Car was buzzing along fine today and suddenly cut out. Refused to re-start. Initially thought it was juice (senders knackered), put a gallon in, no difference. No sound from fuel pump, so bodged a direct feed to it , started straight away, drove home sharpish to investigate further.
Checked voltage at fuel pump. Ok 12.5ish volts.
Checked earth. Ok
Checked fuel pump relay. Ok
Double checked above.
Still wont start!
Turns out the fuel pump wire is showing voltage at the fuel pump but will not allow the fuel pump to run. If u run a flying lead from the live on the fuel pump relay direct to the fuel pump it starts straight away.
One of the days Im sure the astra will have a nice straight forward problem Im sure its only a matter of time?
