The engine loom is descrete from the rest of the car loom, all the engine needs is power and the start motor to turn over, the feeds out the ecu would be rpm, coolant temp, ecu light, there shouldn't be any spare?
alright fella! Getting the transplant done at last, nice to hear you're still working hard on the Nova.
As for your question, j1400 is spot on, just like on my valver what you'll have to do is mate up the current wires on your 1300 loom to the ones on the 1600 engine which operate the starter motor, alternator, oil pressure sender, coolant temperature sensor(s) and any others you can think of.
Yes the conversion is about to start Now that I have the time. Was going to use the box on the engine, but the box you sold me months ago is in better condition (thanks mate )
So it sounds like the loom side of things is not that difficult......how long should it take for the actual swapping of the engines, without doing the loom, ie, just the engine and hoses, bearing in mind that the gearbox will still be in the car?!
Yeah thats me Jay, forgot to mention it before I can wait till later no probs mate, will be returning from Newport anyway, so time is no worry. If you can pm or email me a contact number I will call you when I have a def time on Friday if you want?
I now have everything for the conversion in place.....Its like christmas, I can't wait
