1.6i in a 1.3sr
I want to put a 1.6 GTEi engine into my 1.3SR Nova. I have fitted
upgraded shocks and springs, 2.0 litre brakes and the F13 gearbox.
The engine is on the way.
Do I need the GTE shafts?
Do I need the fuel tank and fuel lines? Which are these?
Do I need to swap the whole looms, or can I just add the bits to
my SR loom....what loom bits do I need?
Any help greatly appreciated
idealy you will need the tank, lines and pump from the gsi. the loom is fairly easy to wire in , just connect it wire to wire, and the red/blue wire is the power supply for the fuel pump.
Okay then, so the actuall swapping of the engines seems quite straight forward, and fitting the fuel tank seem straight forward too.
The fuel lines: is this straight forward to?
When matching the colours of the wires on the loom, where do I cut my current loom? and won't there be extra wires on the loom of the GTE, and what about the ECU?
Thanks for the help so far
wiring, there will be a black and a green down by the coil, you need to use these, and there will be a blue hanging behind the engine, that you will also need. there will be one or two left over. one will be for the ECU light.
So when people refer to the 'loom' they means the bits of wire that they have unplugged from the old engine, that need to be matched to the new engine?
So for the 1.6 I just match up the wires and then wire in the remaining ECU wires?
Is ther a guide about? Does the new haynes Nova modding manual cover it?
