Has anyone fitted one of these to the c20xe, are they any good? Do you think they will work well with my throttle bodies, i know sbd ones are the best but i cant really afford one, i am looking for a cheaper alternative, can anyone reccomend anymore
there's no such thing as a cheap version of a decent tb setup - the dbilas ones you may have seen knocking around are pants.
the only money you might save is if you get them going with the standard ECU.. has been done quite successfully in the past, to the tune of 180bhp - only prob is you need an enclosed plenum for them to work inside (so the AFM can be retained)
I think you have mis read the question, i already have QED direct to head throttle bodies with a DTA ecu. What i'm asking is has any one fitted a magnex exhaust manifold to the XE engine and how does this perform alongside my throttle body setup. Sorry if i didnt make my self clear
I actually ran my tb's on a magnex 4-1 for ages - seemed good enough - but for one reason or another I never had the engine running properely above 6k rpm - which is where you might see whether it was really working well or not.
if you can get one cheap, it's got to be better than the standard manifold - go for it.
Spoke to STEVE b @ SBD the other day and asked the same question. He didnt say the Magnex manifold worked as well as his, (well would he?), but he did say it worked better than anyone elses they had tried with thier system.
Magnex no longer make this manifold, but I got one for £15 from a scrappy that didnt know what it was Brian.
