in the near future I will be swapping my 1.2 carb engine for something bigger, possibly a 1.6 16V corsa GSI engine.
I know normally poeple swop the petrol tank for a nova GTE/GSI tank with the electric fuel pump because of the fuel injection.
I cant do this because the 3 and 5 door tanks are different and cant be easily swopped around. (my nova is 5 door).
So is there any other way I can sort this? Can I use my existing fuel tank and plastic fuel lines? and an external pump? if so what external pump can I use?
What's supposed to be different about the 5 door tanks compared to a 3 door? I thought they were all the same. A mate of mine fitted a tank from a 1.2 (carb) 5 door to his 3 door a couple of months ago - he didn't mention having any trouble fitting it
As far as I know the pipes come out of the tank at different places/angles compared to the 3 door tank, because the petrol cap is in a different place between 3/5 door novas.
I know someone that tried to fit a 5 door tank in a 3 door nova and they had problems.
