1.6 Tigra into a Corsa
I've been offered a 1.6 16v Tigra engine from a 98 Tigra, was wondering whether it's possible/easy enough to fit it into a 1.4 K reg Corsa or not.
It's coming with all the bits needed for a conversion as far as i know
Re: 1.6 Tigra into a Corsa
get everything out of the tigra engine bay
ESPECIALLY get wiring loom, ecu, immobiliser pickup (under steering column) and the key with the chip in it.
cos without these ull never start it.
Make sure u get as many of the mounts as poss since u can use these to bolt straight into ur corsa with ease.
If it has an electronic dash which im 99% sure it will then get this too with the loom and speedo drive from the box if u want to run 140mph clocks.
Alternatively get a corsa gsi mechanical clock dash and run ur f13 box with mech speedo to tell u ur speed.
So its possible then.. thought it would be as the garage bloke said "anythings possible"
Changing the dash to a digital will be a pain in the arse though wont it ? I'll enquire about that to the fella selling it.
Erm.. what about the gearbox the standard f13 should be ok with it ?
Ok, cheers folks, will ask about the Loom n stuff what exactly it's coming with, and the digital dash, would look better anyway i guess
f13 will b fine, but if it has an f15 get it in case u want more power out of the 1.6 later on, cos the f13 wont handle the torque.
You wont need a digital dash (which is like the astra gte)
i mean electronic dash, look at the speedo drive exit from the back of the gearbox by the selector.
It will either have:
Electronic - a block with three wires coming out of it
Mechanical - A thick cable with a round screw on end to it.
Find out whats what and ill help u as things go along if u want.
Ah yeah, gotcha now ! Cheers
