My engine is up poop alley at the moment. Had a programmable management system taken off my engine recently cuz i basically didnt need it. I've had the standard ECU replaced back onto the engine and it now wont run properly.
The top end has recently been rebuilt due to some smashed valves, and i think this may be part of the problem. When the engine is started, i falls over straight away. But if you remove certain pipes off the engine, it will idle and run.
My initial thought is that the garage didnt put it back together properly and it only ran on programmable ECU cuz of the extra fuel i had going in. It was noticeably more gutless after i got it back from the rebuild too.
It was later discovered that the inlet manifold gasket was the old one which had been put back on with silicon It had blown round number 4 cyl, so this was replaced to be safe.
When the engine was rebuilt the head was skimmed and head gasket obviously changed. The head gasket sealing lines show outside of the head . So I'm not sure if the head has been skimmed too much and the wrong gasket put on the engine.
The garage its at now (engine tuning/diagnostics place) says its due to excessive engine pressure and removing the pipes releaves the pressure to enable it to run.
