I am fitting a 2.0 CIH injection engine into my Opel Manta 1.8 carb. I am unable to obtain a hatch fuel tank etc etc from an injection car so i am thinking out my theory of converting the current tank to run injection.
The current tank has piddly little fuel lines, mechanical fuel pump driven off the camshaft at the engine side, and only one fuel line from the tank to the engine.
What i need to run injection is 2 high pressure fuel lines, a return feed into the tank (im thinking fit it to the lowermost part of the filler neck?) an external fuel pump from an injection car (have one) and all the related wiring to run the pump. In theory if i carried out this work i reckon that i should be able to run a fuel injected engine from this setup? At the end of the day as long as the engine runs then i really aint fussed, any criticism's/comments/alternative idea's are most welcome
No manta's with fuel injection anywhere near me being broken, people willing to send them to me want a lot of money which at the moment i have, even if its an effective bodge until i can find a proper one thats fine, just want to see if it would work really
