*might* have the chance to get my hands on a cally turbo v cheap.
BUT there is a few things wrong with it. i dont want to break it, i want to put it on the road.
there is a strange problems with the brakes, i will explain.
take car out of car park, up road...... foot on brake, pedal starts to get stiff, and then i get a 'clunk' feeling through the pedal, the pedal then drops down a bit, then regains pressure.... then CLUNK again, drops even more.... builds pressure, clunk down a bit more etc all this in the space of a few seconds.... the car does eventually stop, not aswell as it should at all though.... any ideas? the car has been standing for a few months now, all the disks were silver when i came back to the pads are obviously making contact with the disks..... abs light is on everytime you use the brakes....
one suggestion has been a dodgy master cylinder or brake servo?
ok next problem.
engine misfires quite badly under load, almsot like its only on 2 cyls first, then whack, picks up no 3, then whack again , picks up no 4. is this a usual problem with these engines?
suggestions on this have been dodgy rotor arm and cap, but i think it may just need a whole ignition overhall?
apart from that its a fairly good car, no rot or rust, engine is a couple of hundred away from 100k, gearbox refuses to be put into 6th on occasions - i already know its the syncomesh on these boxes, whether i will get a new box put in im not sure.
final question is how do i test if the transfer box is in good working order?
and also is there anything major that could have gone wrong while its been sat for a while now?
thanks very much.
