I got given a spare XE block when i bought my Cav GSi a year and a half ago.
It has already been rebored .5mm and my intention is to slowly (As and when i can afford parts) build up another block with forged low compression pistons to put into my Calibra Turbo.
The block had apparently not done much milage since it was rebuilt.
I have never worked on the bottom end of an engine before so im not sure what to look for condition wise in the bearings and the mating surfaces. I have some idea but better safe than sorry.
this bearing looks fine to me but what do i know?
What should i look for?
