I would expect the 16v clutch to be slightly harder to press than the 8v. The clutch on my cav gsi is a lot harder than the clutch i had on my gsi nova (although i do need a new one). I can also imagine that different makes of clutch have different feels too. That life i suppose, you wont know what its like till its been fitted.
Presuming you have fitted everything correctly......
The higher the horsepower of the engine, the stiffer the clutch will be. This is because the pressure plate presses the driven plate against the flywheel. The driven plate is the centre one that drives the gearbox. So more pressure is needed to stop it slippping.
Well sort of anyway, but the springs do weaken over time too.
So in general the bigger the engine the stiffer the clutch. That is why a Nova is a girlie car and real men drive Astra GTEs!!! GDRLF!
