just looking into the options as i dont want the car to be running with un-relible running gear. i duno what the other options are, vette box/lc/ jag do a 6 speed auto??????
though it was torque that destroied gearboxes, or rather the sudden increase in it, N/A cars are less severe thatn turbo's so not such a problem, how much extras torque is you motor running??
ok well this is the plan with the mods, ported and polish heads, match inlets and exhaust to heads, chip (for mapping up to 8k for reliability), a set of fabricated exhaust manifolds (heard there will be good bhp bonus's here) de-cat, throttle plate, s/s rods and arp bolts, power box, noz with 50bhp jets. i'd say 280odd bhp roughly then gas duno its difficult to speculate the out put. maybe the auto box will be ok with the power hike and make it perform a little better and wont need the manual box??? i guess i'm gona have to do it and keep some money back if it goes bang!!
got the auto cos it just came with it, if it needs to be changed... it will be done.
IIRC the Omega auto boxes are stronger out fo the box than the manuals.
Still think with all the money you are spending on it Gav you'd be better off with fully mappable aftermarket management rather than just a chip. :beer:
you could use the T-5 box from mustangs? might not be a mustang though. but the T-5 box is strong, but he T-56 from a viper is stronger again and might be a better bet. add a B&M shifter in one of the 3 gearshift locations and your laughing. varaity of bell housing available so should be ok to match up to the engine. only prob i see is if the input splines don't match the engine. but this i reckon shouldn't be a prob
