LET downpipe bolts
I have ordered and received the two pairs of bits that according to EPC u need to secure the downpipe to the Turbo, according to the drawing there are two bits:
Just two bolt threaded bolts and two copper nuts (which I have)
But I wondered why the hell the threaded bolt was so long, so I looked in the C20LET workshop manual, in the main picture it shows that there are two springs inbetween.
I have looked over EPC but cannot find a mention or part number for these springs which I obviously need.
Does anyone have the part number or a spare two springs??
Does EPC not mention these springs then?
I didn't have the exact right ones (I don't think) so I fitted two that are used where the old XE manifold to the Cat replacement pipe connects.
They weren't that tight so I packed them out with some flat washers for a bit more clamping pressure. Raid a scrapyard dude - they must be pretty common on most late-ish Vaux's.
yeah, the gasket is conical as well. That's because the exhaust can't always get totally parallel to the turbo, and the springs ensure that it's tight and seals, even at a small angle

No not in the Calibra section, I did the same thing. Its listed on c20let under Cavalier though, slightly different picture in EPC with springs listed and shown. The springs arec ommon so you shoould pick them almost anywhere.
