I got a replacement nova GTE engine on friday as my corsa gsi engine gave up on me the other week.
I called 'just novas' up on thursday and they said they had a complete GTe/GSI engine in stock. I asked them to tell me about it. He said 'Its complete, we had it running befiore it was taken out of the car and it sounded ok.
As i arrived to pick it up on friday morning (50 mile drive) the bloke was just fitting a waterpump, which he said he knew worked and refited the cam belt.
I noticed that there was lots of water pipes missing, and it didnt have the dizzy/airbox/loom, well i had these at home from ages ago so i wasnt too bothered.
I got it home, lots of messing about, noticed the oiltemp+inlet temp sensors missing. i blocked the holes with wheel bolts as they wer a perfect fit. (until i get new sensors)
Fitted the engine, tried to run it, would turn over, plenty of spark, plenty of fuel, but no go. Checked the cam belt, the top wheel was 4-5 notches out. So i refittind belt, started fine. Waterpump starts pissing with water, starter makes very strange noises, and it sounds like theres a bag of nails dropped in the engine. (maybe bottom end).
He gave me a 3 month waranty. but what happens about all the trouble/travelling/fitting time that wont be covered by the waranty?
Anybody got any sugestions on howto deal with this?
