Am considering moving my oil cooler about 8 inches higher - it is a little out of the airflow at present due to the fitment of a certain large intercooler
The bottom of the oil cooler sits about level with the top of the sump just now. Like I said, I need to move it up by about 8 inches.
Can you guys forsee any problems?
With about 4-5 bar of oil pressure, I don't think the pump will have a problem, so the only issue might be the "engine off" flow down back out of the cooler 'cos it will be sitting higher.
Of course, this would make more sense if I had fitted the oil temp gauge that I'm planning - but finances can't stretch that far just now. So I don't really know if the oil temps are getting higher.
It's possible that with the the charge temps (i/c) and combustion temps (water inj) being lower they may not be any worse than they were!
There is still a decent flow of air through the intercooler.
Hmmm, have I just talked myself out of doing this already...........?
