hmmm, just started stripping a mates astra gte, 2.0 xe. he was driving it when it suddenly lost power and died, he tried restarting only for i to backfire an blow the airbox lid off!!!
now my guess is head gasket or bent valves, the cambelt is in place and timed correctly and with the cam top off no visiblesigns of bent valves(low lifter height etc) so that leaves head gasket,but can this really cause a loss of all compression over all four cylinders? am gonna strip i anyway but just wondered if i'm missing something, any ideas anyone?
