fuel consumtion on carbs??
wot kinda mpg can i expect with twin 40's on a SEH engine? assuming i get them set up correctly. would people recommend them as a good power mod or would i be better off gettin some headwork done?
on a 20XE you would expect about 20-25bhp increase over the standard 150bhp from carbs
on the SEH i reckon youd be looking at about 15-20.
if you drive sensibly you could see 30mpg from carbs, but believe me you wont want to drive sensibly.
on the other hand, a fully worked head could see the same power gains, and retain all the standard driveability.
tom sticklands 2.0 8v astra gte is running 145-150bhp through the standard fuel injection, 90% of that is due to blydenstien b+ head.
wow i didnt realise a good head could make such a difference. ive also been told the carbs sound awesome when u floor it, this true? have heard a few people buy them just for the sound. only thing putting me off is the cost of the fuel as im not the most conservative driver in the world
that from throttle bodies or carbs? just asking as the link has gte16v_thrbs. sounds awesome wotever it is
it is throttle bodies, but they sound the same
was that on the rollers? sounds like a full load run? sounds very nice too!
that was just up a bypass. 2nd through 5th gear
ah ha, sort of a full load run then , i think tbs sound harder than carbs anyways
