i'VE TRIED TO UNDO THIS SCREW RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CAM COVER, BUT JUST CAN'T GET A GOOD GRIP ON IT WITH A SPANNER. HOW DID YOU PEOPLE MANAGE IT , AS I HAVE LITTLE TIME I HAVE JUST DECIDED TO BOOK IT IN AT THE VAUXHALL GARAGE SO THEY CAN PUT IT ON THE RAMPS AND DO THE WHOLE LOT CAM AND ROCKER COVER. AND JUST OUT OF INTEREST I HERE THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF CAM COVER, ARE THERE ANY VISIBLE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO?? THANKS
1) Turn ya caps lock off mate it looks like you are shouting.
2) When you say Bottom screw which one do you mean? Can you explain a little more clearly? Do you mean the CamBELT cover?
If so a 10 mill socket on a short extension usually does it, sometimes the whole assembly unscrews out of the block, dont woryy when you get it out you can undo that with a 17 mil spanner and simply screw it back into the block first.
The belt cover fitted to later models has a bulge at the left hand side as the water pump is fully surrounded by the back-plate, where as the early ones only the pump pully is surounded by the backing plate.
