Got a mate's XE engine here and were trying to undo the crank bolt so we can rebuild it, its a bare block now apart from the crankshaft and oil pump.
I've tried fabricating something to jam the ring gear but that slips when i've got some MAJOR pressure on the breaker bar, and even then the block isn't happy with staying where it is!
What sort of things have other people used to jam their ring gear when its out of the car? Also - if the worst comes to the worst can we drill it out? I know its about the tightest bolt on the whole car and its not far from rouding the bolt off even with the proper E20 socket.
