Right I know the head gasket has gone on my C20LET and was going to put a new one on this weekend but last night I noticed I may have another problem. When idling the car is putting out a lot of white smoke and water is spitting out of the exhaust which I expected but after idling a while when you set off and put it under load there is a puff of blue smoke. After the puff of blue smoke when you next floor it and come on boost it is totally clear, no smoke at all. Then after a bit of a thrash I let it idle again for 5 minutes then drove it off and yet again another puff of blue smoke when I set off which then cleared up next time it came on boost.
So in short if the car idles it is kicking out white smoke and a puff of blue first time its trashed and then its totally clear until it is left to idle then it starts again
Doesn't seem to be piston ring symptoms does it as it would smoke constantly wouldn't it?
Just don't want to waste time and money doing head gasket if piston rings are going to need doing shortly.............
Any ideas whats causing it anyone?
Got a lot of oil in my water btw.
