Well here goes…since November the car has been running fine except on a few occasions were it would not start ....just spin over but just wouldn’t fire…eventually after a few attempts it would…
Now it wont start at all…ok ive checked for a spark and the all the plugs are firing…I suspected a faulty relay and maybe a fuel pump so I bypassed the relay and made the fuel pump come on…it works fine and im getting fuel at fuel rail (checked via bleed valve) …
so I bought a new relay…put it in and I hear it click when I switch the ignition on but the fuel pump does not run with the relay in?? therefore I suspect that the ecu and injectors (as they run off the same relay) are also not going to work with the relay in, even though ive tried 3 different relays which all work….now im confused???
The engine hasn’t been touched and it was running fine before so
I have a spark
Relay that works
Working fuel pump but doesn’t run when relay is in???
Guy at Vauxhall said that it could be the Cold start valve (CTS??) but even if that was at fault why am I still not getting the fuel pump on with the new relay in??
Any ideas guys??
i think thats right...i swaped hall sensor from the turbo and stillthe same but have a spark so i assume thats ok...so only 2 things crank sensor and cts...dont know whether the CTS would preent it from starting though??
i reset the ecu and turned the engine over and read the fault codes....
i got code 93 Hall effect switch - Voltage Low
i tried the working dissy/hall sensor off the turbo and it was the same, so do you think it could be the wiring or something else causing it?? im almost certain its something around that area - when i tried to start it yesterday by disconnecting the plug into the hall sensor it almost fired but died again....and havent managed to get anything??!!
hello m8, mayb a silly question but have u an alarm/immobiliser on ur cav. if so, then chances are that one immobiliser circuit is connected to fuel pump. can u get car to start if u put a live to fuel pump?
i thought it may have been that as it has one of those immobiliser fobs that you press againts the pins....but it doesnt interefere with the fuel pump at all and yes ive tried a permanent live to the fuel pump but damn thing still wont fire..!!
had a quick look at the plugs today but couldnt see or smell any petrol on them..hmmm...injectors maybe?? but why am i getting code 93 hall effect switch low voltage up??
fed up with the car...so second to having to get the thing to the local vx garage im considering calling out a local mobile mechanic with Crypton diagnostic equipment...any good at resolving or finding the fault???
if your getting a spark then it wont be crank sensor. get some easy start and take off air filter and squirt sum into airflow meter whilst cranking it over, that will tell you if its fueling thats the prob. if it fires that way u can keep it running by keep squirting easy start, then u know its fuel probs and could be fuel regulator or injectors
Yes mate i think your right...i sprayed some easy start and it feels like it wants to fire and actually does for a bit!! so the crank sensor is ok? (i thought it relates to fuelling not spark but i guess im wrong again) so fuel regulator or injectors...mmmm wha next??
