How the feck do you fit bonnet lifters?

I bought some ages ago for my old Astra GSi but could never

figure out where they went. Now I wanna fit them to me Cav but

I'm still confused, the bonnet just doesn't seem strong enough

    to compress the struts.

Pics or info would be grrrrrrrrreat (as tony the tiger once said)!

    Bonnet Lifters

Those lifters might not be strong enough for the cavey's bonnet.
I cheated on my astra . I removed one of the bolts to hold the wings on and then i removed one of the other bolts that hold the bonnet hinge to the bonnet and then replaced both with the one's with what you get in the kit .
This way you don't need to drill any holes that might create rust in the future !!
Only draw back is the bonnet doesn't open as fully as your standard bonnet prop. Don't get me wrong , it's still opens more than enough to work under the bonnet

Vauxhall are a shitter for rusting!!

Unbolt the wing bolt and replace with the supplyed relacement bolt with the nipple on it, do the same again for the bonnet hinge and then just clip the lifter on.

Job done, Takes about 10 min max

can you use the lifters from the trunk?
Note: the above may or may not be entirely correct.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, and then it struck me.

How do you bolt them though? If you take a bolt out which bolts

the wing you cant get to the nut underneath cos there is a sheet

of metal there. Anyone understand that?

The ones that go into the wing have a far corser thread, identical to a bolt you have taken out.

Not fecking happy! They dont fit. The bolts fit fine in the bolts that

you have to remove from the bonnet hinge cos they arent self

tappered, but the bolts (which are self tappered) you have to

remove in the wing are fecking self tappered and the new bolts

arent which means they dont fit. I cant even get a nut to fit

underneath cos you cant get to that bit as its all sealed with

    metal. Double balls!

I think the only way now is to tack weld it in.!!!!

    15 minute job my FECKING A R S E!!!!!!!

would you splease check if they're the same length? cause i still have a spare set of 'em, will obviously need other bolts, but i can make those...

the boot lifters are too strong and chunky iirc, bonnet lifters are slimmer so they fit in the seam of the wing with the bonnet shut
