My tutor at college is a really a right decent bloke who loves cars just like all of us
so im asking this question on his behalf to see if i can help the geezer out
Right here goes best i can......
the other day while he was waiting to set off the car lurched upon turning the key.
upon closer inspection it appearsthat only the bolt in the middle of the bottom pully is turning when the ignition is turned
what do you technical guys think is the problem?
Possibly a woodruff key sheared
the engine is turning the pistons over freely and thats all thats happening.
the cranks turning but the pullys aint moving an inch.
would it be possible on this engine to have managed to get away without valve damage?
and would it be wise to just get the bottom pully to be active again and gently turn the engine over by hand to see?
its a lot of valves to mangle if they are bent.
any advice greatly reiceved
