Took car to mechanic today. Finally got fed up with the constant high revving idle i had.
After taking the ICV off to clean (something i have done more times than i have had sex lmao ) he replaced it and the problem went. NO squealing and no more rev problem.
What was it he did different ??????
simple. He said that the vauxhall design for using a simple plastic gasket wasnt enough. It needed proper sealing and something he was always having to deal with.
So basically, he removed the gasket and used a liquid sealer which wont set solid, but hard enough to form a proper seal.
Has worked a treat. The old ICV is working 100% now.
I wanted to pass this info on because i know erratic idling, high revving, and stalling at junctions is a common problem.
Just goes to show, that sometimes those ICV's and breather pipes aint always the cause.
Cant guarantee it will cure everybodies idle problem, but its worth considering if you are having this problem.
He just used a semi drying gasket maker fluid which is readily available from Halfords.
