Hi u guys,
Since a company dropped peaces of alloy into my engine there has been no oil pressure.
I have taken the sump and the pick up pipe off, there were a few particles in the bottom of the sump and 1 or 2 bits stuck to the gauge filter on the oil pick up pipe,
The think that worries me is the pressure release valve,
The pump was fitted brand new just 15 weeks ago, the release valve was stuck in the chamber, i had to prise it out and smooth it down with wet and dry cos I needed to get the car running that night,
It has worked fine until last weeks incident at the local engineeres, they dropped alloy particles into my engine.
I undid the nut and took out the spring but the plunger is stuck in place again, I managed to get it out and wet and dry it again but it was still a tight fit, and when building the engine back up there was still no oil pressure..
1, Should I take the plunger out again and have it machined properly or is it supposed to be a real tight fit?????
2, Will the oil pump have survived the alloy fragments or will this need replacing??
Obviously, I would prefer not to have the hassle of fitting a new oil pump if I can get away with the valve..
