engine out WHAT MODS????

im about to send my corsa gsi's engine away (x16xe) for a full rebuild/recondition. are there any mods worth doing to it while its in bits?

defo, bottom end lighten and balance with head work, matched manifolds to heads, the rest can be done without too much hastle (eg, cams, fse power boost valve, chip, exhaust, tb's etc etc)

there is only so much that can be done b4 a 2.0l 16v is required

chances are after all those mods u wont breach the 150bhp barrier easy.... why not go 2.0l anyway ???? taking cost into account it may be cheaper.

get a 2ltr cost the same to get oall that work done and you will have loads more power in the future

beg to differ!!! you can get 200bhp from a 1.6 16v with pistons, bodies cams and headwork, and its 65 kg lighter than the 2.0 so the car will handle better
