Anyone got Courtenay suspension on a Corsa or Corsa 2.0l?
Any good?
I have the Courtney/Bilstien 2 ltr 16v suspension kit on my 16v nova.
Well recomend it, not hard but firm and as you load the springs they get firmer and handle really well.
Think there worth the money? people seem to think there over priced. Have you tried any other suspension to compare them to?
Still anyone else with the Courtenay suspesnion I'd like to hear what you think.
Cheers
what are they actually lee ?
cup shocks with courney springs?
Failed mot on indicator bulbs not being orange enough DOH
I think there just the Bilstein shocks (not adjustables) with Courtenays own specialy designed springs to compensate for the extra weight on the front end (C20LET/C20XE).
They cost about £450 and they do a clubman version with gas dampers and the same springs at £345 (I think).
I'm thinking about buying a set for my Corsa project (Corsa C20LET) but I want to know if they're worth the money. For less money I could have a set of Koni adjustables.
They are black non adjustable bilstien shocks valved to courtney spec (So they say) with the courtney higher poundage springs because of the extra weght of the 16v engine.
It did have G-MAX -60mm kit on it but when the engine went in it sat on the bump stops and it was rock hard.
There is a clip by lee69 on here somewhere of me doing a track session at Castle Combe and you can see how well they handle.
They are well worth the money in my eyes but some people seem to think that just normal small block suspension kits are fine.
I experenced both and would pay the extra to get what I have now every time.
The only down side is they are only -35mm and dont 'look' as good as the -60mm. Depends what you are after, looks or handling.
