Still struggling with this lambda sensor lads. I wired up the 4 pin sureseal connector (is that thing a nightmare to push into place or what) and connected a multimeter between the loom pins and the ECU plug. I was looking for continuity on pins 21 and 29. Pin 24 l(lamda earth) was connected to the black/pink loom wire, but no wire was live for pin 29. I did get lives on pins 18+36 and on pin 21 but not on 29, and I don't want to risk connecting the sensor unless I am absolutely sure as it was very expensive. I think I will have to phone up SBD again and buy the lambda harness adapter which I think is about a tenner. A bit irritating when I have all the bits here, but probably worth it for peace of mind.
That could be a plan Rob. I think that the pink wire is probably the lambda signal on the loom, as it is beside the black/pink one which is connected to pin24 (I have been told this is lambda earth). This would make sense, but I don't want to take any chances. I could look for a ground on one of them (I assume thiw would be heater earth). Pins 18+36 may be +12V but I am not sure. I may give it a go connected to the standard single wire lambda on the manifold and see if I get a signal. I really don't want to trash the Bosch sensor. I think I will phone SBD tommorrow and see if I get any joy, if not I have a few other things to try. Why is nothing ever easy with cars
cheers for that Rob, tis very useful for the future. I ended up buying the adapter from SBD (only 5 pounds + VAT) which came with full wiring instructions. The sensor is now wired up and I should get it fitted this weekend. I also got the carbon fiber spark plug cover as well. This is now fitted along with another couple of things. I have new engine bay pics which I will post soon. One more question Rob (You must be well sick of me by now ) Is this lambda sensor an LA or an LSEU sensor as they seem different in easymap. What is the difference?
it will see the sensor as the bog standard 941 afr mate, thats the beauty of it.
the LA3 is for the bosch lsu 5v wideband setup and inverted by sbd for some bizarre reason (hence separate map), i never did get what steve was on about, but i think he just wanted to rescale it back to 1v
