ive been so pi**** off with this phase 3.5 had a new turbo, clutch, lsd, wi to find the phase 3.5 was giving me less power than standard well definitely felt like that, boost would rise but no equivalent power.
today i connected up a fuel pressure gauge to the rail pressure 3.6 bar at idle with vacum pipe connected and 4.2 with vacum pipe disconnected, took the car down the road and at the moment its only hitting around 1 bar and it was much quicker, turns out my pressure valve was leaking so i presume it was taking in air, does that sound like a valid theory
i think the water/methanol water injection has saved my engine upto now.
are the idle pressures fine or should it be dot on 4.5
So was it the hot-start valve that was giving you grief?
Or was it a vacuum pipe with a sneaky crack?
I recently tidied up that area, bypassing the hot-start valve completely, and using 3 T-junctions to feed the DV, the original FRP, the Weber FPR and the ECU. New vacuum pipes too, the old ones were hardened and cracked.
I probably need to get rid of the reduntant FPR at some point, leftover from certain vaux 'tuners'
a short while back i took the cap off and realised it was a litlle wet so wasnt a big leak could not smell fuel but must have been the problem because i had to take the internal spring loaded valve out to connect the fuel gauge, it must be air tight now and car is much quicker.
