My oil pressure light has been slow to go out ever since I got the car, but ONLY after it has been standing for 30 hours+. Even if I start for 1 min, leave for 3 hours, light goes straight out next start.
I bought an SBD Nylon oil pressure relief valve kit. However, removing the nut I found NO spring, and there was what looked like a restrictor in the plunger hole!
The car is ex-police, me being the 2nd owner. Is this a common mod? Anyone taken one of these out? Is it easy, or does it ruin the relief valve bore?
I want to fit an oil pressure gague anyway (keeping the std warning light). I heard that there is another oil pressure take off point on the back of the 2.0 VX block, that is blanked off with a screw/nut, and that this is ideal for fitting a pressure gague into, and leaves the std warning light sensor alone. Any ideas where this is? Is it a good idea?
