I am stripping the 20xe engine I recently bought but only to the block, leaving the head on as it was repaired a few k ago.
I want to clean its block up and paint it, plus it will get me familiar with the rest of the ancillery parts.
I undid the inlet manifold that came to me with the loom attached still, as I was removing it from the head studs I noticed that the loom box that attaches to the injectors was loose. I drew bothe the manifold and loom off the block only to find 3 little wire clips that should hold the wiring clipped to the injectors laying on the head steps where the manifold goes. I cant find a 4th clip
Were these not fitted properly when the head was put back? is it not usual to find one missing? I hate to think where that 4th clip could be
I had just 1 pair of inlet valves open while doing this and have been down all 8 ports with my magnet on a stick and down number 4 plug hole, the one that was open, I cant believe it was there to start with but was it.......
