My mate's got a rover 214si (the K series 1.4 16v engine)
It seems to be that his clutch release bearing is whining when accelerating in 1st and 2nd and then in deceleration from 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st. There isnt a noise in any of the other gears. Does anyone know how to stop the bearing from whining or is it new clutch time, but the clutch was replaced a year ago + isnt slipping.
We thought maybe the box syncho's was at fault but have tried knocking it into first at 6k rpm and it goes in no problem and slows the car down well.
