If the EDS intercoolers that come with fitting kit and go on without hacking weren't so expensive I'd have one by now!
What do you think is the most suitable application? A long thin one with part exposed to air or a shorter fat one with most exposed to air? I know in your cooling section you said not to worry about it not being totally exposed but if I have the opportunity to expose more then maybe I should?
Bumper off is a good idea.
I can see me buying a phase 2 kit including intercooler yet!
The shorter, fat one will have less pressure drop, all other factors being equal (which they never are!)
In general avoid thin cores, they seem easier to fit but don't work well at high boost pressures.
Also avoid ridiculous pipe angles (anything over 90 degrees has to be avoided really).
