Anyone using steel conrods (SBD, Eagle, Verdi, Arrow, etc) with an standard, *non-modified*, C20XE/LET crank?
Any problems with the axial crankshaft clearance getting bigger as time goes?
It seems to be a problem that the crankshaft gets worn out (axial) with steel conrods..
I have an example of this (not my engine) and just want to check if this problem only is related to that specific engine.
The firm that manafactures the conrods (Verdi, worldfamus for his conrods and dry sump pumps) thinks that the problem could be that the crank is not hardened and suggest that the crank should be "nitrer-hardened" on the axial edges.
