Ok, I am planning on doing this very soon. I have the corsa and am loking for a donor XE.
Now, fitting is where my questions start.
I see places like pvd do a fitting kit, but its £500 for what appears to be not much.
Is this kit needed or can i manage without it? From what I see, the most expensive part of the kit are the driveshafts. If i got some 2nd hand shafts, that would save a lot of money.
What about the engine mounts? i presume these would be harder to manage without. I can have access to good metalwork facilities so i can fabricate stuff as needed, but I have nothing to work from If i had mounts to copy i would be fine, but working blind isnt much use. Maybe it would be worth getting these mounts to save hassle???
The pVD kit comes with some kind of replacement for the sfi box but i can cope without this. so thats £95 saved anyway.
"New fastening for anti-roll bar" £27. whats that all about? i will be replacing most of the suspension bushes anyway when i do this. is this some modded part i need or can i do without?
Any other information greatly appreciated, also anyone know anywhere else that does this sort of thing for less dollar?
Also, what about fueling? I presume i keep the standard tank, but what about the fuel punp? is it up to the job for the XE or do i need the pump from the donor car too?
