My car seems to have picked up an annoying habit recently.
Occasionly it has a very lumpy idle, idling between 500+1500ish rpm, and sometimes it will stall (Usually in the most awkward of places).
I have just changed the ignition coil, which does seem to have improved things, but it still seems down on power, and has a slight mis-fire at low revs.
The spark plugs are rather white on the Core nose+Electrodes. What does this indicate, underfuelling ??
The Plugs, Leads, Cap, and Rotor arm, and Temp Sender are fairly new.
Just changed the ECU+AFM. Still does it
It only does this at idle though, and drives OK otherwise. It just has a very dodgy idle, when hot+cold. What symptoms would a dodgy Coil Amplifier Module give, and maybe a dodgy Fuel pressure regulator. Just ideas.
Have a spare Fuel presure reg. Will try that tommorow.
New Plugs+Leads+Rotor Arm+Coolant Temp sensor In It.
I have a fairly new Dizzy cap, but its non Bosch I know. I deserve It to break down!! And It has newish Leads.
Will try some new NGK plugs aswell as mine are white with underfuelling.
Maybe it's just a leak in the AirPipe between AFM+Throttle Body?? All guess work at the moment. It either stalls at idle, or idles erraticly.
an airleak should be more obvious i would have thought. when you blip the throttle (open it a fair bit suddenly) the engine would almost stall and if it was bad it would stall. i did have a knackered mount which wont have helped the offending pipe stay more together though
There is a strange vacuum/sucking noise that comes from "around" the area of the Brake Servo, at low revs that I had never noticed before. Maybe connected?? Don't notice any damage to the pipes or anything though.
Aye, I have lot's of theory's + no real answers in my head.
Will have a play around tomorrow swapping+changing until I find the damn problem. Still It's been running for 2 years with nout going wrong so far so I was expecting something to go wrong. Makes you hate the car that you used to love though
